Fish and Chips

I am in London with a group of 37 teenagers, and six other chaperones. When asked about the food, our tour guide said that in all of recorded history, no one has ever said, “Hey, let’s go out for English.” Well, I haven’t found it all that bad, but I did have an interesting experience.

We (two other chaperones, one female, one male) were in a place called Camden and saw an interesting pub called, The Black Cap, so we went in. Okay, have you seen the movie The Birdcage? Well, that was what it was, downstairs anyway. Upstairs was a nice pub. I expected Gene Hackman and Robin Williams to come through singing We Are Family.

The bottom line (no pun intended) was that the fish and chips were great, the Guinness cold (for England that is) and we had some good laughs. If you are in London, give it a try.

Hey Chris, I once went on a trip with teenagers and found it virtually unbearable. You're a better man than I, Gunga Den.

Yeah, now that it over I realize that I'm 20 years too old, and 30 pounds too heavy to do this. The 30pounds I can fix, but I'm not getting any younger.
